“Travel pictures should convey the socio-economicpolitical landscape of a country.”—Ajay Jain

Ajay Jain is a writer and photographer based in New Delhi. He enjoys travel photography, and he also likes to shoot people and their expressions. But what is unique about his travel photography, is the humour and innovative style.
Besides, he feels that travel pictures should convey the socioeconomic-political landscape of a country. “When I shoot I keep the reader and viewer in mind, I think of what will excite them? What will make them stand up and take notice?” he says. He has captured funny road signs and advertisements during his travels to Ladakh. Ajay has compiled them into a book titled Peep Peep Don’t Sleep, which was released in November 2008.
Although Ajay had a keen interest in photography since childhood, he started shooting professionally only after he switched to journalism in 2001.He has also written columns for The Hindustan Times, Financial Express, Outlook Business to mention a few.
