The Canon Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year 2017-18 Awards began with an afternoon session of talks by Sephi Bergerson and Prakash Tilokani, on 29 March, at the Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach. During his talk, Sephi reflected on the responsibilities of a wedding photographer, and how they can create value for their clients. This was followed by a presentation by Prakash Tilokani, who recounted his entire journey as a wedding photographer. Guru Vaidya, Creative Evangelist and Senior Solution Consultant, Adobe Systems, took the stage after, and spoke of the innumerable possibilities with Photoshop and Lightroom. He was then succeeded by Pritesh Rao, a Canon Photo Mentor, who spoke about the practical ways in which gear can affect photography. The afternoon session ended with a live demo of Canon cameras and lenses.

The main awards ceremony began in the evening, and was attended by some of the biggest names in the industry.
