Even as markets get more specialised, what do people look for today, in terms of your product categories? 

Nikon has been constantly innovating and our range of powerful D-SLRs justifies our commitment to bringing the best to the photography industry. As more people are entering the field of photography, customers want equipment that is easy to handle along with providing great quality of output. Our recent launches such as the Nikon D850, Nikon D5, Nikon D500 and array of lenses and accessories provide impressive features that suit the growing needs of photographers as well as videographers around the world.

Keeping in mind the growing needs of photography enthusiasts, we have constantly innovated to bring out some of the best products. Features like 4K UHD videos, 8K time lapse*, Wi-fi connectivity and support for SnapBridge app that allows for Bluetooth supported seamless connection between the camera and any compatible smart device, thus making automatic upload of images on social networking sites instantly. New-age features like these help photographers to easily attain the desired work.

What have been some of your biggest successes in recent years? 

In recent years Nikon has expanded its product portfolio keeping in mind the growing needs of the photography community in India. In 2017, many cameras were launched, like the Nikon D850, Nikon D5, Nikon D500, D7500 etc. For the varied product range, Nikon has won many accolades in the industry as well. In international category, Nikon D7500 received EISA Prosumer D-SLR camera 2017-2018 award, Nikon D500 won the Camera GP 2017 editors award, Nikon D5, D500 and Keymission 360 are proud recipients of iF Design Award 2017. The flagship model D850 received an overall score of 100 at the highly rated testing lab of DxOMark. The hero model gathered some feathers in Indian awards segment as well. It has won the Stuff System Camera of the Year Award and Best Camera of the Year at Exhibit Tech Awards 2017. Within just 3 months of its launch, the D850 has stirred the photography industry with extremely positive customer reviews, proving that this camera is indeed a game changer. Apart from that, this year we also won the D-SLR company of the year award at Device World Leadership Awards. The last year has definitely been a fruitful year for us and we aim to keep the momentum going.

What are your expectations in the coming year, in terms of growth?

During the financial year 2017-18 we are targeting 1200 crore revenue, and for the financial year 2018-19 our aim is to increase this revenue by 5%. On the product front, we aim to maintain our consistency in launching products that are in sync with the needs of our consumers. As thought leaders in the industry, we are continually working towards bringing technologies which are cutting edge and game changer. Features like 4K UHD, Wi-fi connectivity, SnapBridge etc. are high in demand, as they provide uncompromising still and video quality and alongside convenience of uploading the same on social networking websites instantly.
