Why it is my best shot
This is one of those simple, yet magical moments that happen around my house every day. This image is the first in a personal body of work on my family. That is why this image is very close to my heart.
Where and when I shot this image
I made this image during one of those holidays when I was lazing at home. It is a moment from the first day of friendship between my father and my dog.
How I achieved it
My father is 78 years old and my dog, Ole is two years old. They share a relationship similar to a grandparent and grandchild. However, my father was not always a dog person. A few months back, he fell ill. On one of those days, Ole jumped on the bed and wanted to play and be petted by my dad, which is when I made this photo. Ever since , my dad has been very fond of Ole.
The gear I used to get the shot
I used a Canon EOS 550D along with the Canon EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. I had set the exposure to 1/30sec at f/3.5, ISO 800.
