When you are out on the streets, photographing unknown subjects and people, try interacting with your subject before or after the shoot. This will help build a cordial relationship, and you may get a chance to photograph your subject in their natural element. Also save their address and send them a print, or a digital copy. It is a small gesture on your part, but it will definitely win you a friend for life.
